Funny it may seem but this may be true for a lot of people, including Pinoys. Some of the most important decisions in life – such as those related to 1) choice of a lifetime partner, and 2) selection of a career – may have been arrived at without thorough analysis.

Perhaps, the next generation may profit more and learn from the lessons of their predecessors by knowing the various factors involved in decision-making, including: Parental influence (to a certain degree) Tradition (eg, arranged marriages, etc) Economic reasons Spur of the moment impulse Factor x
Recognizing the various factors at play may lead to wiser decision-making and ultimately lead to better chances of success among the members of the next generation of Pinoy youth. As is the case in most cases of choice, it is worth noting that in certain aspects of life, such as in war or in love, there is not much consolation in being the runner-up. In facing winner-take-all situations, it makes sense to always come and show up with one's best or A-kind of effort. Although there are no guarantees, the satisfaction of knowing you have done your best in any decision made or course taken erases any second-guessing or any thoughts of what could have been.
