| Taking care of estates and wills |
|
Filipinos work hard for the sake of their family and aim to leave a worthwhile legacy when they are gone. Although it can be difficult at times to make both ends meet, we try our best to hand down a decent inheritance, whether it be financial or in some other form, eg, inspirational or lasting impressions felt when listening to beautiful music. Among the ways to ensure an indelible legacy include having investments, life insurance coverage, estate planning, and making wills (ie, legal wills). Establishing family trust, estates, and wills are but some of the means to ensure trans-generational transfer of wealth in an orderly fashion. There are available online services that can provide information about estates and online wills to complement legal advice. Sometimes we take these things for granted and some say it is easier said than done. Perhaps we can learn from the lessons of history and leave a better legacy for our children by taking care of estates and wills at the appropriate time.
