The monthly “Kapihan sa PACCAL” organized by the Pan American Concerned Citizens Action League, Inc. (PACCAL) will be held on June 6, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the PACCAL Neighborhood Center.  The main topic for this month’s forum is “Own a Philippine Home Loan Program” to be presented by the Philippine National Bank, New York Branch. This month’s “kapihan” also features health screening to be conducted by the Kalusugan Coalition, Inc./NYU Project Aspire.

"Kapihan Sa PACCAL" which simply means "Coffee Time at PACCAL!" includes light Filipino style breakfast.  Attendance is FREE and is open to the public as a community service of the association. The PACCAL Neighborhood Center is located at  380 Monmouth St., Jersey City, NJ (between Columbus Drive and Newark Ave.).

This month’s topic is of special interest to Filipinos and non-Filipinos who would like to own a home in the Philippines for retirement, vacation, investment or for their loved ones back home. It will discuss how they can avail of the loan program, who can borrow, how much can be borrowed, repayment terms, interest rates and how to apply. Jess Capalad, PNB New York General Manager and Remy Pe Benito, PNB Loan Officer, will discuss the program.

There will also be health screenings for blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol to be conducted by the Kalusugan Coalition/NYU- Project AsPIRE.  PACCAL is a community partner of  Kalusugan Coalition/NYU-Project AsPIRE  in the study of hypertension in the Filipino community in Jersey City.
