Mt Banahaw

Lucban, which was founded in the 1500s by Spanish Franciscan missionaries led by Fr. Juan de Plasencia, today is a thriving mountain resort and pilgrimage town. Aside from its pristine beauty, Lucban is known for its colorful fiesta in honor of St. Isidore (San Isidro de Labrador) which is celebrated complete with pahiyas and kiping decorations and special Filipino food such as pancit habhab, broas (ladyfingers), espasol, hardenera, and pinais. Lucban is a pilgrimage town and is also associated with healing, with the Kamay ni Hesus church and shrine (under Fr. Joey Faller) at Barangay Tinamnan as a key destination for religious devotees. And of course, the town's cool climate (with November to February as the coldest months) is the added bonus to complement the picturesque scenery and the uplifting experience one can have in Lucban.
