Located at the foothills of Mt. Banahaw and at about 1400 ft above sea level, the town of Lucban (Lukban) is the Summer Capital of Quezon province in Luzon island in the Philippines. (Video from youtube.com; posted by monerenic 08.18.08)
Lucban, which was founded in the 1500s by Spanish Franciscan missionaries led by Fr. Juan de Plasencia, today is a thriving mountain resort and pilgrimage town. Aside from its pristine beauty, Lucban is known for its colorful fiesta in honor of St. Isidore (San Isidro de Labrador) which is celebrated complete with pahiyas and kiping decorations and special Filipino food (Video from youtube.com; posted by rhosdator 05.17.07)
