Filipino food knows no boundaries

As with any cuisine, delectable Filipino food generally knows no boundaries, including geographical, racial, or any other parameter.

Some of the popular Filipino food delicacies include lechon (roasted pig), adobo, pakbet (pinakbet), sinigang, kare-kare, lumpia, and pancit. In addition, there may even be sub-categories for each food category.  For example, pancit Malabon, pancit bihon, pancit habhab (pancit Lukban) for pancit, lechon baboy and lechon manok for lechon, and lumpiang sariwa and lumpiang Shanghai as in the case of lumpia.

Aside from main course recipes, some of the favorite Filipino snacks or Filipino desserts include halo-halo, pan de sal, pan de coco, bibingka, puto (rice cake), ensaymada, arroz caldo, goto, leche flan, and even homestyle Pinoy ice cream.

Wherever Pinoys may be in the world, the taste of home always beckons.  With Filipino food, whether cooked at home via Filipino recipes or enjoyed in Filipino restaurants, the connection with native roots is maintained. "Ang sarap talaga ng" (how delicious really is) Filipino food!
