Who is? / Sino si? section is a unique way to learn Tagalog (or more appropriately Pilipino) via brief narratives on individuals or personalities of interest to our readers. The Who is*? component is the English version. The Sino si? component is the English-Tagalog *In the case of persons who have passed away, technically, the past tense "Who was?" is the more appropriate question. However, the present tense is retained for the following reasons: 1) as a sort of artistic license to maintain consistency, and 2) more importantly, such individuals, by their actions or lasting heritage of achievements, continue to live in our memories and in a way are still with us. Hence, Who is? may be applicable in that perspective.
