What is the iPad? [English version]

The iPad, made by Apple of Steve Jobs fame, is a line of tablet computers that serves as a platform for  audio-visual media including books, movies, music, games, and web content.

The iPad was introduced in 2010 and is now in its second-generation iteration (iPad 2, although other future versions are anticipated). The size and weight of iPad falls between cell phones or so-called smartphones and laptop computers.  The iPad runs on the same operating system as other popular Apple products such as the iPhone and the iPod and can run its own applications (apps) as well as iPhone apps. With its wide acceptance, the iPad can be truly said to be beyond just than a product. The iPad represents a special declaration or statement, a signal direction, an idea, and a prime mover in the consumer electronics world all rolled into one product and more.

Ano ba ang iPad? [English-Tagalog (Pilipino) translation]

Ang iPad, gawa ng Apple na kung saan sumikat at pinasikat ni Steve Jobs, ay isang linya ng mga tablet computers na nagsisilbing plataporma para sa mga gawang audio-visual, kasama na ang mga aklat (libro), pelikula, musika, laro, at mga linikhang laman para sa internet (web content). Ang iPad ay inilungsad sa publiko noong 2010 at sa ngayon ay nasa ikalawang bersyon (iPad 2, at ang mga susunod na bersyon ay pinaka-aabangan).  Ang laki at bigat ng iPad ay nasa gitna ng cell phone(o mga tinatawag na smartphones) at ng laptop computer.  Ang iPad ay umaandar sa parehong operating system na ginagamit din ng iba pang propular na produkto ng Apple gaya ng iPhone at iPod at maaari ring gumamit ng sariling applications (apps) o di kaya’y apps ng iPhone din.  Sa napakitang malugod na pagtanggap ng publiko, tunay na masasabing ang iPad ay higit pa sa isang produkto lamang.  Ang iPad ay isang espesyal na deklarasyon, signal ng bagong direksyon, diwa o ideya, at punong tagapag-lusong sa mundo ng consumer electronics na pinagsama sa isang produkto at higit pa.
